Photos of fall approaching

O.K., this is not fall colors, but really it's been unseasonally warm and dry - and rather than having our eyes to the mountains or river, we have been staring at the ground where the topsoil had been moved from the clearing operation. Wow!! We have had a blast knowing that we are holding something that was last touched maybe a thousand years ago! That big spade shaped one on the top row was spotted by the eagle-eye of the family, our daughter Lacey. 10-2-05. NOTE: these points have been dated by University of Tennessee Archaeologists as the middle to late archaic period (6000 to 900 B.C!!)

This little bugger has his fall outfit already on. Hope he finds a nice place to spend the winter. 9-23-05

This isn't much, I know, but it is the first hint of color change I've seen this year. 9-16-05. I believe this is sumac, but I'm not sure.

The view from a little further down hwy 285e, as the color starts its trek up the mountain.
